Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Cars, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they added.
Police then discovered numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.
An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
